Formed in 2006, the Kennet Valley at War Trust was born from the resurgence of interest in the events of the war years, and by a tangible desire amongst the local community to preserve the history of the Kennet Valley and to use the information, artefacts and displays in the Trust’s care to help educate all age groups and nationalities on the history of the area during the Second World War. Established following discussions between the Trust and Bourne Holidays Limited, the Museum’s evocative setting within Littlecote House, in surroundings which have changed little since 1945, has since proved to be the ideal home for the Trust’s collection of Second World War artefacts.
Unique to the Kennet Valley, the Museum is of regional significance, drawing interest from a range of ex-service organisations and from the US airborne community.
